A recent addition to our town is the Ocean Discovery Centre which has been open for about a year already, but it was only a little while ago that I made a visit. Most impressive! From the entry lobby, where visitors enter an imitation submersible and then most realistically descend beneath the waves, to the display area with its vast array of glass fronted tanks and on to the open tanked teaching location (great for young oceanographers) the whole thing was very well done. Lots of photo opportunities, but lighting was a challenge, reflections demanded some thought and other visitors had to be avoided, but an interesting location and a good visit.Monday, 3 May 2010
