A cuppa', that's what the English used to call a cup of tea, which was the solution to any and all problems such as ill-health, wars, family quarrels, hot weather, cold weather and any other setback - "let's have a cup of tea and we'll feel better." When my aunts used to come and visit my mother for tea when I was a small boy, if they kept their hats on we knew they would not stay long but if they removed their hat it was going to be a long session! My mother would say "are you going to take your hat off?" meaning "how long are you going to stay?" Of course, tea was always made in a teapot such as these, with real tea leaves - one spoonful for each person and one for the pot, use boiling water and let it stand for five minutes. Yummy!
